Halloween II or Halloween Boooooooo!!!!!!?

By El Che

Tyler Mane a.k.a. Michael Myers is back to slashing in Rob Zombie’s Halloween II. I was especially excited to see this movie because of how psychotic Halloween I was. It told a great serial killer story combined with enough fright and slash to persuade me to leave the lights on at night. I was really looking forward to seeing how they would develop the story of Michael Myer’s lost sister Angel.

Without dragging this review out like the movie, Rob Zombie continues to deliver on the hack and slash gore that you’d expect, although, this was more than just a cut-em up film. Michael seemed a little more angry than indifferent about his victims.  Not only would he stab them, in some cases he brutally beat man, woman and animal to prove his pointless point. Of course I jumped, jerked and held the edge of my seat in anticipation of the next head to go through the wall. But these days, that doesn’t seem hard for scary movies to do. They know the psychology of making us jump. What is hard to do however, is to write a good plot to make sense of the unimaginable horror. And in that department Halloween II failed miserably. I think I’ll pretend like Part I was the end of the franchise. 2 ½ out of 5 stars.

There hasn’t been a scary movie since The Exorcist. I still can’t watch that joint with the lights out! Any horror movie since then has been toned down to the point of gory comedy.

dam it was that bad Fest??? I used to love the original Holloweens but I wasn’t motivated to see either of these recent joints.

that bad huh!! ain’t goin now

I am surprised it merits two stars. I guess it has some jumps.

I was soo looking forward to this movie, but I keep hearing it’s kinda weak… sucks. Still going to watch it tho, Rob Zombie movie fan over here.
